Calvary Solid Ground follows the philosophy of the Calvary Chapel movement started by Pastor Chuck Smith of teaching the Bible verse by verse and emphasizing a reliance of the work of the Holy Spirit in all our ministries. We place an emphasis on Bible prophecy through teachings and updates. Our meetings are casual and centered around loving God and loving one another. We are also a church that is engaged in the culture and is seeking change through activism.
Church Practices
Our services are about 1 1/2 - 2 hours with a focus on the teaching of God's word. We normally have a short time of prayer after a time of congregational worship. As a New Testament Church we practice Communion on the first Sunday of the month following the regular service. We also practice baptism by full immersion on an annual basis. Our current Sunday school is for Pre-K through 5th grade and we use the Answers in Genesis program that takes the children through the Bible in four years. As the church grows we will be expanding our classes to include Jr. high and High school.
